Carnival, parks and more

Monday, May 10, 2010

A couple of weeks ago we went to a carnival. Max was super excited and begged us to take him on some rides. So we purchased a few tickets and let him choose the rides. Of course he picked the Circus train because he loves anything that resembles a train but his favorite ride was the roller coaster. He almost started crying when we told him the roller coaster was too big of a ride for him but he insisted and they allowed kids his size on it, so we indulged him.

We also took the kids to Castle Park where they happened to be having Touch a Truck event. Max was excited to be able to sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn. His favorite truck the Hummer limo.

Lastly, we finally got Max a kite. Over the weekend when it was super windy we went to the park and taught Max how to fly it.

Lately Max has really been into Pingu (a show about a penguin and his shenanigans). Max loves Pingu and talks like him. He basically yells out LOC LOC for anything. Anyway, the other day I put Isela down for a nap and I went to go put the laundry away when I hear Max yell LOC LOC. So I went to see where he was and he happened to be in his room supposedly saying hi to Isela. At first I was obviously mad that he woke up Isela but she thought it was so funny and was bouncing up and down laughing with Max, that I just had to laugh with them. She loves her big brother and can't stand to be parted from him. When Max is down for a nap I have to keep my eye on her because she will go into his room and start calling for him. So cute. I love my two babies!

My baby is 3!

I can't believe that my little boy is growing up. I still remember the wonderful feeling I felt when I first saw him . I never knew such happiness and felt so much love. To me he will always be my chiquito gordito.

Max's birthday falls on Easter this year and so we decided to celebrate it a day before. I made him an ice cream cake. He sure was happy to wear his birthday shirt that I made.

Poor little guy had such a fun day playing games and riding his bike that he fell asleep by 7PM. Can't wait for Easter tomorrow. I hope the kids enjoy it!

A weekend in review

Monday, March 22, 2010

I had an awesome weekend! Blair's school has a ball every year called the Spring Ligament and we decided to go because we like to dance. We requested some songs that never got played but I got to dance to some of my faves like Lady Gaga. It was a lot of fun and an early anniversary gift because I begged Blair to take me to this.

The club was located right in Center City in a place called The Downtown Club. The streets were packed because it was warm outside. It was nice.

The next day we decided to take my friend Emily who was in town from Cali down to the shore. I was sure that there would be lots of people due to the weather and I was right!

I decided to take some pics of the family for Spring/Easter but it was a bit harder than I thought. The kids were too busy playing in the sand to want to look at the camera. But we still had fun eating giant slices of pizza and walking on the boardwalk.

Sunday was Emily's last day in Philly so we took her to eat another cheesesteak, check out South Street and take a look at the stadium where the Flyers play (she's a hockey fan). We couldn't leave Center City without getting a yummy crepe from the Reading Terminal Market.

Blair convinced me that I need to learn how to make crepes so I can recreate this yummy dessert at home. Sure enough, I've already pulled out my Jacques Pepin cookbook to try out my hand at it.

Last but not least, shortly after learning how to crawl forward Isela started pulling up to stand and now she's is cruising! She's only 8 months!!!!!

Max and Isela

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Max loves his boo boo bear as he calls Isela. Well he has a couple of other names for her too. When Isela messes up his toys he calls her baby monster and when she wakes from a nap he calls her chiquita preciosa (little precious girl).

Max thought it would be funny to place a bucket on Isela's head. The other day I heard Max asking Isela if she would play cars with him and then in his best high pitched Isela voice he answered, "Yes Max I would love to play cars. Thank you!"

winter fun

Just a little post of what we have been up to in the last couple of months. Heres a few pictures from the blizzard we had a couple weeks ago.

This is what our apartment complex looked like after "snowpocalypse". We stayed indoors that day but we had to get out the following day and it was not fun trying to dig out our car. Especially since we didn't have a shovel. Our car was buried under this mound.

We decided to have some night time fun even though it was still snowing. We weren't the only ones. Look at the huge snowman someone built.

Snowy times in Philadelphia

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

It snowed big time over the weekend and so I took the kids out to our little patio to play in the snow. Max had a blast but I felt bad that I couldn't do much with him since I was holding Isela. So on Monday we decided to play in what was left of the snow(which is a lot) while Isela was napping.

Here is our pathetic attempt at making a snow man. As I was helping Max make it I realized that it was my first time ever making a snow man. So what could have been a snow man ended up being a snow face.

Later on that day Blair took Max out again for somemore snow fun and Max insisted on taking his "Elmo car." I can't believe how attached he is to this toy. He learned how to walk with this toy and he puts all his treasures in it. This worries me because I was planning on having Isela use this in a few months to learn how to walk but I think I'd be better off getting her a new one.

Christmas in California

We had an awesome time spending Christmas with my family. An even better time spending New Years with our friends and a great time with my husband's family in Utah. Here are some pictures from our travels.
